I CAN HELP

Why a Life Coach?

A life coach isn't a therapist, or a consultant.  A life coach works with you as a co-creator of the path forward you desire.  A life coach is a thinking partner whose job is to help you overcome your challenges and achieve your goals.  Together we prioritize progress over perfection and create a workable plan to help you ascend the mountain of  your choice.

My Story

My name is Dave Rucker.  I first started coaching when I was 22 years old and led a team of 10 technicians at a P&G manufacturing plant in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  I remember when I started the job noting that one of the people I was supposed to coach started working when my father was 10 years old and wondered what I could possibly offer.  Turns out quite a bit!  Effective coaching really isn't about knowledge transfer so much as it is helping people shift perspective and build plans to succeed.  Over the years many of the technicians I coached got promoted to management and many managers I coached got promoted to higher levels. But some of my greatest satisfaction came from coaching people about life beyond careers, whether it be budgeting, or time management, or school choices, or tough decisions, or reinvention through new phases of life.  My favorite part of working at P&G was helping people, even more than putting new products on the shelf.  That's why, after 32 years at P&G, when I retired I entered a certified life coaching program and became a life coach.

Cost and Logistics

My general billing rate is $75 per session which can take up to an hour.  I do offer student discounts down to $50 per session.  Prior to billable sessions I'm happy to be able to offer a free sample coaching session to enable you to experience coaching at no risk to you.  This is in addition to an introductory conversation to talk about what professional coaching is and how it can help you and to answer any questions you may have, if desired.

A free sample session is an actual coaching session and you'll be asked to come prepared with a topic and a takeaway for the session so that you can receive the most benefit possible.  A professional coaching session is an investment in yourself and in my experience the best way to see the return on that investment is to experience it!

The logistics of meeting are up to the client.  I prefer face to face and can do so at a time and location convenient to you, but also happy to do Zoom calls or even simple telephone calls.  Give me a call, text, email, or fill out the contact form on this web site and we'll get started!
